Quick Update, Monday, Aug 10, 2009
Hi all: Just wanted to give you a quick update. I am currently in a Denny's with wi-fi in Rome, NY, and continuing to head west toward Niagara Falls. I'll pass through Rochester by the 12th, where my newphew and his fiancee live, and do full updates then. It's a rain day, today (ugh!), but I can't let a little water stop me! (Can I?) I'm pretty much guaranteed to get soaked, but I've got my waterproof socks on (Subway sandwich bags), so at least my feet will be comfortable, I hope. Thanks for your continued interest and support! ;~Don

Hi Don- hope you can hang out at Scott and Katie's - he's in Georgia but Katie is probably home. Don't forget, she has weird doctor's hours...
Thanks for checking in quick - was wondering where you wandered off to!

Hi Julie: Yep, I'm at their place, now. Katie is at home, but Scott is off in Georgia getting parboiled in the heat and humidity, poor kid. Well, if it's true that 'whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger,' then he's going to be SUPERMAN. L- ;~Don
Don: How did you get from N.Turner Maine to Rome NY in such a short time, interested in hearing about that part of your trip.
Just discovered your blog and am really bummed out. Living in Lubec, I think that it should be a cardinal point on major bike trips (like Key West and San Diego), but hardly anyone cycles through here. It is so neat that you visited. Had I known, I would at least have treated you to a beer.
Hi T: Well, I don't dilly-dally much on this trek, I guess. I'm always thinking about my target finish date (end of October), and that spurs me on to as much effort as I can generate, to try and make it. Actually, I'm beginning to think I *won't* make it. We'll see. The updated blogs are almost ready, so you can find out the blow-by-blows through them. Thanks for your interest! ;~Don
Hi Tomthel: Oh, too bad we didn't connect up. Check out Warmshowers.org - if you're willing, you could list yourself as willing to host cyclists - then I'm sure you'd meet some. ;~Don
Looking at getting a Q myself when I get back to Florida; only in ME for Summer and I find the roads around where I live not trike frendly.
